The Awakening was held in a 2,000-seat tent Sept. 18-23, just north of the intersection of 15 and 30. One of our speakers was Walid Shoebat, author of “God’s War On Terror,” and former Muslim terrorist.

Mike Ragan received some criticism for inviting a terrorist to Warsaw. I have visited Israel 15 times, lived there for more than one year, have a daughter and grandchildren who have lived in Jerusalem for 12 years. My daughter speaks Hebrew, Arabic, French and English. Together we have visited Walid Shoebat’s home town, a small suburb of Bethlehem.

Has anyone who criticized Walid Shoebat visited his home town and talked with the people there in their own language?  We have. Someone asked if we “vetted” him before we invited him to speak in Warsaw. Of course we did, but no one asked us about it. We did not ask his enemies if he was a good person or go to the liberal news media. We actually did the on-the-ground research, which is much more than some “journalists” do by taking a quick scan on Google.

I back Mike Ragan, the chairman of The Awakening, 100 percent. Anyone who really wanted to know the truth could have asked me. They did not. So I assume that the truth is not really what they were after.

Two Israelis just visited me here in Warsaw, an Arab and a Jew, both of them believers in Jesus Christ. They both know Walid Shoebat and vouch for him. Hmmm. Any further questions? Mr. Shoebat will be speaking in Warsaw again Nov. 19-20 at New Life Christian Church. We welcome inquiries and interviews.

Understanding Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) And Using Them
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
