Sheriff's Salary

So I just finished reading the "County Workers' Wages Slashed" article in the Times-Union today and I have a question for the county council. Are you seriously telling me that Sheriff "Rosco'" Goshert makes $94,993 a year and his salary is untouchable? Let me repeat that, $94,993!
My God, what would happen to him if he had to take the 7-percent cut like the rest of the county workers? Would he not be able to feed himself? I know, I know he froze his salary out of the kindness of his heart. What a good man.
Does "Rosco" forget he was elected to his current position? Why does he have a say in what his salary is?
Here's a news flash for you: If you didn't severely overpay "Rosco", you wouldn't have the financial troubles you do now. So, your solution is to cut from those who are already not making enough money. That's genius.
The citizens of Kosciusko County need to stand up against this and let your elected officials know this is wrong. If they don't listen, elect someone who actually cares about the county's well being and not the deep pockets of a few criminals.
