That request was approved by the Kosciusko County Council Thursday night with a vote of 5-0.
Board president Harold Jones and councilwoman Charlene Knispel weren't at Thursday's meeting.
Goshert asked for his salary to be frozen at $96,893 for the next four years.
He had previously requested for his salary during his first term to be frozen. The county council also granted that request.
Going into 2011, his salary, along with all other county employees, was increased by 2 percent.
Goshert's latest salary request didn't come without some discussion.
Councilman Brady Tandy said he would approve the request but would have preferred to review Goshert's salary on a yearly basis. Councilman Bob Sanders agreed with Tandy.
Goshert said he was fine with where his salary was.
Goshert also informed the board that Deputy Craig Bale has retired and Deputy Jim Springer will retire at the end of the year.
Goshert asked for and received permission from the council to hire one new deputy.
Goshert said the new deputy will probably be hired at the end of the year and will be chosen from "a good pool of candidates."
Councilmen-elect James Moyer and Doug Heinisch sat on the board during Thursday's meeting but didn't take part in any votes.
Moyer defeated Jones in the May primary while Heinisch won in Knispel's district after she chose not to run again.
They will be officially on the board in January.
Moyer was appointed to the Area Plan Commission as a county council representative.
Kenneth Johnson was appointed to the Alcohol Beverage Commission for another year as well.
Bob Sanders will once again serve on the Kosciusko Economic Development Co. board, Susan Myrick and Brock Ostrom will serve on the Parent-Teacher Association board, Larry Teghtmeyer and Bill Warren will serve on the redevelopment commission, John Kinsey will serve on the Solid Waste District board and Tandy and Teghtmeyer will serve on the wage committee.
The council also approved a transfer of $16,000 from the Jury Per Diem/Travel Meals fund to the Court Ordered Services, Court Ordered Attorney and Legal Research.
Judge Duane Huffer said that transfer request goes hand in hand with the increase of meth-related cases.
The 2011 K-Code Budget also was approved Thursday night.
The council approved a year-end transfer resolution that allows county auditor Marsha McSherry to make any fund transfers until the end of the year. The transfers will be noted at the council's January meeting.
Two-interlocal agreements were approved. One was with the Solid Waste District while the other was with the county visitor's bureau.
The next county council will be Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. in the old courtroom at the courthouse.[[In-content Ad]]
