Shape Up Kosciusko Wraps Up Program

Just more than 10.5 million steps were taken by participants during the 12-week program in January and ending in April.
The top walkers for the event were recently recognized. The overall top walker was Cindy Adams, Winona Lake, with 1,101,612 steps taken.
Adams received a free year-long membership to the Kosciusko Community Hospital's Health and Wellness Center.
The second-place finisher was Kathy Schumacher, Winona Lake, with 1,041,860 steps. Schumacher received a fitness pass from the Kosciusko County YMCA.
Shape Up Kosciusko is a 12-week program designed to help Kosciusko County residents establish healthy exercise and nutrition habits.
The program was sponsored by Purdue Extension - Kosciusko County in partnership with Ghean M. Arnolt Education/ Philanthropic/Opportunities Endowment Fund, Giverny Fitness Studio, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, KCH Health & Wellness Center, Kosciusko County Pork Producers, P.S. Fitness and Kosciusko YMCA
Program participants were asked to track the number of steps they took each day, their daily fruit and vegetable intake, and attend five weekly educational sessions on nutrition and fitness.
