Service Academy Nominations

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

Each year Congressman Marlin Stutzman recommends a select few of Northeast Indiana’s best high school graduates for admission to the nation's service academies.
When applying for a nomination to a service academy, an applicant must apply to both the respective academy and through the congressional office. The deadline for filing is Nov. 1 at 5 p.m.
To help any students interested in learning about the process and the requirements necessary to apply for nominations to the U.S. Air Force, Merchant Marine, West Point, Naval and Coast Guard Academies, information sessions will be held in early October to answer questions, give out applications, receive applications and confirm items that have already been submitted. Warsaw will host an information session from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Warsaw Public Library.
An Academy Committee of retired military personnel will vet the applications and interview the candidates. This year’s interview date is Nov. 15, so the Nov. 1 deadline is important to meet.
If you have any questions or need additional information, contact Kathie Green in the congressman’s District Office at E. Ross Adair Federal Building 1300 S. Harrison St., Suite 3105, Fort Wayne, IN 46802; 260-424-3041 or via email at [email protected]
Warsaw Community Schools’ graduates can also contact the WCHS Guidance Office for assistance at 574-371-5099 or [email protected][[In-content Ad]]
