Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita's office to host investment fraud workshop at Ivy Tech-Warsaw Secretary Rokita's Indiana Investment Watch program aims to protect Hoosiers from fraud through investor educatino.

In the wake of major investment scams like the one perpetrated by Bernie Madoff, Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita's office is hosting a free investment fraud workshop for Warsaw-area residents Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Ivy Tech-Warsaw campus at 3755 Lake City Highway.

In this workshop, participants will gain a better understanding of investment fraud, how to recognize a scam in progress and how to report instances of fraud.

This workshop is free and open to the public.

Rokita created the program Indiana Investment Watch to increase financial literacy in Hoosiers and to educate them about the various types of securities and mortgage loan broker fraud. The program is not funded by taxpayer dollars, but rather by the money collected from settlements in securities fraud cases. For more information, visit www.IndianaInvestmentWatch.com

Mulch Giveaway Scheduled

The city of Warsaw Department of Public Works has scheduled its mulch giveaway for the following Saturdays: April 4, 11, 18, and 25; and Mary 2 and 9.

The mulch can be picked up from 8 a.m. to noon on West Center Street inside Boggs Industrial Park.[[In-content Ad]]
