Warsaw Community Schools Chief Financial Officer Kevin Scott will resign after 11 years with the school.
During a telephone interview this morning, Dr. David Hoffert, WCS superintendent, said Scott’s last day will be April 12, and a new CFO will be announced at the May Warsaw Community School board meeting.
Scott’s position was posted on the school’s website last week and will continue to be advertised until April 25.
Hoffert said Scott is resigning to explore new options.
“Kevin has done a great job keeping financials in line according to state policies,” Hoffert said. “We wish Kevin the best in his future endeavors.”
Hoffert said Scott will assist with the transition through the summer.
Jim McWhirt will serve as the interim CFO and start next week.
In another personnel matter that is separate from Scott’s resignation, Larry Burkhart, former WCS custodian, was terminated by Warsaw Community School Board of Trustees in April.
The reason behind the termination is unknown.
