Pierceton Elementary enjoyed a recent day-long visit from Science Central, who set up their 'Wild Weather' Exploration Stations for the students. Students visited different stations in small groups to learn about the water cycle. At the Water Cycle Bracelet Station, students learned the different steps in the water cycle and created a beaded bracelet with a bead to represent each stage of the water cycle. Students learned about evaporation and transpiration at a station involving plants. Everyone created edible clouds at the Cloud Station. As students learned about different types of clouds, they created models of each one. One of the most active stations was the Precipitation/Evaporation Game Station. Teams earned water cycle points by following the laws of physics and moving water from clouds to groundwater buckets. At the Accumulation Station, students learned how water moves through different soils in an aquifer and built an aquifer in a cup. They discussed the effect pollution has on water at this station.[[In-content Ad]]
