Editor, Times-Union:
I have been brought up in the WCS system and am attending WCHS right now. I attended Edgewood Middle School and have had family as well as several friends attend Washington and Lincoln elementary. I have also met with Dr. Hoffert and have seen him give his presentation on the proposed referendum.
After much time learning and studying the referendum, I can say it is absolutely necessary. Lincoln is on its last legs and is literally duct-taped together. Edgewood is an open concept school and there are literally classrooms inside of classrooms inside of classrooms. Washington has major security risks that need to be addressed through renovation.
This referendum isn’t just some ineffective and expensive government program we’ve all got to shell out dollars for; it’s a smart plan to ensure the safety of your children, and afford them the best environment and opportunities to succeed.
