By Staff Report-

The niece of Jackie Shilling Tucker recently established a scholarship fund in Tucker’s memory at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
Teresa Craig established the Jackie Rae Shilling Tucker Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships for graduates of Warsaw Community High School who participate in the high school choir, demonstrate financial need, maintain a C average or above, demonstrate community involvement or work a part-time job and who are family oriented.
Tucker graduated from WCHS in 1975. She worked industrial jobs, from which she retired in 2009, after which she went to work at Penguin Point – returning to her teenage place of employment. She would sing as she worked and bring laughter and joy to the workplace, according to a press release from KCCF. She loved her customers and many became her friends.
“Jackie loved choir and music, and she loved people,” said Craig. “This scholarship is meant to honor all the lives she touched, and reflect the joy she had in life.”
The deadline to apply for Community Foundation scholarships is March 15 at 4:30 p.m. For more information about scholarships, visit KCFoundation.org/scholarships or call 574-267-1901.
Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community. The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
