Makenna Lee Schmidt was born at 4:45 p.m. July 16, 2009, to Andrew and Shelley Schmidt, Columbia City. Born at Goshen General Hospital, she weighed 8 pounds, 5.6 ounces and measured 20 inches.

Grandparents are Rick and Sandy Schultz, Warsaw, and Carl and Karen Schmidt, Howe.

Great-grandparents are Tiny Greene, Warsaw; Wilbur and Mary Emma Schmidt, Howe; and Richard and Rosemary Greene, LaGrange.

Makenna is the couple's first child.
