Sam Rollins

KNOXVILLE – Tenn. – Sam Rollins, 77, of South Knoxville, Tenn., passed away Aug. 16, 2011, in his residence, after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born to Pap and Denzil Rollins, who preceded him in death. He married Annette Younce, who survives.  
He was a member of Gap Creek Christian Church. He owned Sam Rollins Plumbing Co., retiring after 50 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. His greatest joys were watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family. 

Also surviving are a daughter, Sis (and spouse Tom) Mikels; two sons, Brian (and spouse Sandy) Rollins and  John (and spouse Sherry) Rollins; grandchildren, Josh (and spouse Scarlet) Rollins; Kassie and Kerrie Mikels; Courtney (and spouse John Ed) Burlingame; Austin Boone; and Brody and Kendall Rollins; great-grandchild, Payton Grace Rollins; a sister, Geneva Beaver; and many special nieces, nephews and friends. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Moody and Katherine Rollins, and three brothers, Howard, George and Everett Rollins.

Services will be at 8 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, officiated by  John Finley Younce, Sam’s special nephew. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Seven Islands Cemetery with full military honors by the Volunteer State Honor Guard. 
 
Calling is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
