Grant and Flossie Salyer will mark their 70th wedding anniversary Oct. 16. Grant Salyer and Flossie Allen were married Oct. 16, 1937, at the Methodist Church in Knox, with the Rev. Frederick Greenwalt officiating.

They have been members of the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God for 52 years, with the Rev. Frank Whitaker as pastor. He and his wife lisa are instrumental in the Salyer's lives.

He is a retired freman for Norfolk and Western Railroad, where he worked for 40 years. She is a homemaker.

The couple have three children: Mrs. Samie (Beverly) Brown, Warsaw; the late Mrs. Hubert (Charlene) Neeley and the late Mrs. Willis (Carolyn) Allen. They have nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The couple will celebrate the anniversary with a famly dinner.
