Students, staff and parishioners of Sacred Heart Church and School met to learn more about their sister parish in Kenscoff, Haiti. Debbie Reith, Haiti chairperson for Sacred Heart, and Cindy Hollowell, school liaison for Haiti, gave a presentation to all the students and staff about St. Nicholas Parish in Haiti. Students were allowed to dress out of school uniform by making a contribution to help the sister parish in Haiti. Discussions took place about the lifestyle, economic situation, educational system and special needs of the Haitian people. The importance of continued stewardship was shared and how time, talent and treasure are important toward helping out the Haitian parish and school. Students were reminded how Christians are called to help one another, especially those who are less fortunate. The students and staff danced in celebration, for this is how the proud people of Haiti celebrate. Plans are being organized for ways that stewardship for the parish will continue.[[In-content Ad]]
