SYRACUSE - Ruth May Eastlund, 90, of North Webster, died at 12:01 a.m. June 14, 2008, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born May 15, 1918, in Walkerton, to Albert R. and Nancy Z. Masterman Barden.

Living in Nappanee most of her life, she moved to Syracuse in 1986, and North Webster in 2001. She was a retired secretary for WaNee Community Schools and assisted with various duties at Eastlund Funeral Homes until 2001. She attended Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Syracuse, and was a member of Nappanee Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Gray, Lafayette; two sons, Gary (and spouse Linda) Eastlund, Leesburg, and Marvin (and spouse Phyllis) Eastlund, Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Burroughs, Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wawasee Lakeside Chapel with Pastors Harlan Steffen and Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
