Ruth Carlin, 106, of 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, died at 11:58 p.m. Sept. 14, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Dec. 18, 1900, in Wabash County, to Isreal and Sarah Brookins Ohmart. On Sept. 28, 1929, in Wabash, she married Loren M. "Pete" Carlin.

She graduated from Laketon High School in 1919, and Manchester College Teachers Training in 1924. She was an elementary school teacher at Laketon, Sidney and Nappanee schools, retiring on Sept. 29, 1982. She attended Warsaw First Brethren Church and was a former member of American Legion and Eagles Lodge auxiliaries.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, with the family officiating.

No calling is planned.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
