SYRACUSE – Russell P. “Russ” Whetten, 54, of Milford, died July 13, 2012, as the result of a motorcycle accident near Milford.

He was born Oct. 18, 1957, in Elkhart, to Larry L. and Nancy M. Stevens Whetten.

He attended Fairfield High School and lived most of his life in the Elkhart/Kosciusko County areas except for some time he lived in California and Arizona. He formerly was a truck driver;  worked at Holiday Rambler, Wakarusa; and Lippert Components, Goshen, as a welder.

Surviving are his mother, Nancy Savala, Milford; his father and stepmother, Larry and Lucy Whetten, Edwardsburg, Mich.; a sister, Pam (and spouse Richie)   Walker, Milford; two brothers, Steve Whetten Sr., Syracuse, and Albert Whetten, Woodland, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Kasandra Lanham (and fiancé Jeremy Howard) Lanham, Leesburg, and Jessica (and spouse  Jeremiah) Criqui, Topeka, and Kyra Davis, Milford; and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepfather.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Milford Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
