Russell L. Nine, 81, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Nov. 29, 2012, in Fort Wayne Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Ralph and Margaret McCalla Nine. On June 10, 1949, in Warsaw, he married Donna Grindle, who died May 4, 1986. On Aug. 6, 1987, in Warsaw, he married Cleo Arnett, who died Aug. 15, 2010. He was a machine operator at Kimble Glass for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman, teaching his identical twin daughters how to fish before they could walk. He loved his family, especially the grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Christine (and spouse Alan) Meck, Pierceton, and Kathleen (and spouse Joel H.) Zehner, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Sirenna (and spouse Scott) McDonald, Angel (and spouse Alan) Blakeley, Joel R. Zehner and Chris Zehner, all of Warsaw; Jason Meck, Pierceton; two great-granddaughters, Kelsea and Hannah; a stepson, J.C. (and spouse Pamela) Harman, Birmingham, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Michelle (and spouse Andy) Greer, Columbia, S.C., and Rhonda Wells, Columbia, Tenn.; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Nine, Melbourne, Fla.; and a sister, Linda (and spouse Bill) Haney, Arizona. He also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Zehner, who died Feb. 7, 1980. No services are planned.
