Russell George Wall, 80, of Warsaw, died at 10:50 a.m. March 20, 2007, in his residence, after a long battle with leukemia.

He was born April 13, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ray R. and Ruth Turrittin Wall. On July 15, 1983, he married Marie M. Kauffman, who survives.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II in Iwo Jima, and was stationed in California during the Korean War. He was in the Navy Choir that sang every Thanksgiving. He was a timekeeper for the New York Central Railroad and then as a material handler for General Motors Corp., retiring in 1980, after 24 years of service.

Also surviving are four daughters, Beverly Fischer, Mrs. Jim (Patricia) McFall and Mary Rasado, all of Lowndes, Mo., and Mrs. Pierce (Delores) Andrews, Skokie, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Sharon Borntrager, Jackson, Tenn.; two stepsons, Stanley Borntrager, Carlsbad, Calif., and Walter Borntrager, Goshen; a brother, Ronald Wall, Payson, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hartman Family Funeral Service, Goshen, with Pastor Deirdre Stavendahl officiating. Burial will be in Baintertown Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
