NAPPANEE - Russell "Butch" Ervin, 72, of 755 N. Madison St., Nappanee, died at 8:05 p.m. Jan. 18, 2011, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.

He was born May 4, 1938, in Madison Township, to Russell L. and Wilma Senff Ervin. On Aug. 24, 1958, in Nappanee, he married Marianne Ketzel, who survives.

He was a 1956 Nappanee High School graduate and retired from Triangle Pacific (Mutschler Brothers Kitchens), Nappanee, in 2003. He was a member of Nappanee American Legion and a former member of the Nappanee Parks and Recreation Board.

Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda Ervin, Brownsburg, and Beth (and spouse Donny) Sample, Goshen; a granddaughter; and a brother, Kenton (and spouse Jill) Ervin, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery with a military graveside service by members of Nappanee American Legion.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
