Roy Max Brown, 75, Claypool, passed away at 12:47 p.m. Aug. 19, 2014, in Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was born Nov. 22, 1938, in Miami County to Robert E. and Grace Garner Brown. On Jan. 22, 1967, he married Deloris “Dee” Kay Myers Brown, who survives in Claypool.
He attended high school in Rochester, then he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for two years until his honorable discharge on April 26, 1966. He worked for Chrysler Corp in Kokomo as a truck driver until his retirement in 1994.
He spent his winters in Florida for the last 16 years and has been a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 20 years. He enjoyed wood working, his grandchildren and his neighbors.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Kevin (and spouse Jennifer) Brown, and two grandchildren, Max and Abbey Brown, all of Noblesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kent S. Brown in 2012; six brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at his home, 5542 Swan Court, Claypool, to celebrate his life with family and friends.
No visitation is planned.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
