ROCHESTER – Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Bailey, 66, of  1650 Sweetgum Road, died Sept. 4, 2011, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.

He was born April 20, 1945, in Kewanna, to Lyle and Lavonne Stretch Bailey. On Sept. 26, 1965, he married Rose Mary Folkerth, who survives.

During his high school years, he was a four-year member of Future Farmers of America. He served the Rochester High School class of 1963 as treasurer, played intramurals and participated in the Tri-Epsilon theatrical production his junior year. He raised Chester White hogs, chickens and a cow and showed them all as a member of 4-H. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67, primarily stationed in Okinawa. He worked at the Foods Co. for 41 years, retiring as the human resource/office manager. For 51 years, he worked Saturdays at the Rochester Sale Barn. He was a member of the Rochester Community School board from 1990-98.

Also surviving are two sons, David Allen (and Stephanie) Bailey and Dan (and spouse Emily) Bailey; four grandchildren; three sisters: Joyce (and spouse Richard) Briggs, Macy; Reba (and spouse Larry) Cripe and Mary (and spouse Terry) Wynn.

Military honors will be by members of the Leroy Shelton American Legion Post 36 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1343 at 1 p.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.

Calling will be from 1 to 8 p.m. (after the ceremony) Thursday at the funeral home.
