Ronald L. Brown, 78, of 611 Austin Drive, Warsaw, died at 11:55 a.m. June 5, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Mentone, to Francis and Letha Goodman Brown. On May 7, 1988, in Spokane, Wash., he married Judith L. Rhoads, who survives.
He retired from United Telephone,   Warsaw, in 1992, after 38 years of service.
He was a 1953 graduate of Mentone High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He attended  New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Warsaw, and was a member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw. In his earlier years he had his pilot’s license and participated in the Mentone Flying Club, where he enjoyed flying small planes.
Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Tami (and spouse Tom) Clemens, Warsaw, and Kristina Stahl, Huntington; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor David Cripe officiating and eulogy by Pastor Richard Chappell. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery, with military rites by members of American Legion Post 49.
Calling is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
