He was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Chicago, to Henry and Francis Yuill Kaufman. In 1942, in Illinois, he married Celeste Conley, who preceded him in death. On May 7, 1973, in Chicago, he married Sally Millington, who survives.
He was the owner and operator of Lakeside Foundry, Warsaw, for 25 years, then worked for Dalton Foundries for 18 years retiring in 1991. He was a resident of Warsaw for 35 years coming from Chicago.
He was a major in the US Army-Air Force and a bombardier in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and Abundant Life Assembly of God, Warsaw. His first love was the Lord, then his family.
Also surviving are two sons, Jack (and spouse Patty) Kaufman, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. and Kurt (and spouse Laura) Kaufman, Warsaw; a daughter, Joyce (and spouse Rod) England, Warsaw; two sisters, Patricia (and spouse Terry) Richardson, Biloxi, Miss. and Arlene (and spouse Seward) Heckaman, Lompoc, Calif; nine grandchildren, Cory, Amanda, Jeff, Christopher, Nick, Jake, Brandi, Sabrina and Chrystal; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin sons, Robert and Ronald Kaufman who died in infancy, a son, James Kaufman who died in 1989 and three sisters, Elaine Neeley, Marilyn Kaufman and Dorothy Consuela.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw with the Revs. Glenn Mitchell and Ray Hansen officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Warsaw American Legion Post 49 following the funeral service.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
