Ronald Allen Guiles, 75, of Warsaw, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 17, 2011, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 25, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., to James Ernest and Ellen Margaret Snyder Guiles. On Oct. 6, 1956, at Third Brethren Church, Philadelphia, he married Irene Ann Horst, who survives.

After graduating from Northeast High School, Philadelphia, he attended Temple University and graduated from Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of divinity degree. He worked as the financial aid director for Grace Schools and served on the board of trustees of Grace Schools for 16 years. While in Grace Seminary, he was pastor of Skinner Chapel, Twelve Mile. He served as a pastor in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches in Bethlehem, Pa.; Fort Worth, Texas; and Maitland, Fla. In October 2000 he retired from pastoral ministry and moved to Warsaw and worked for Grace Brethren International Missions. He was a member of Community Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw, where he served on the Board of Elders, was pastor of seniors, taught Bible classes and led small groups.

Also surviving are a daughter, Susan (and spouse the Rev. Ron, pastor of Woodville Grace Brethren Church) Smals, Mansfield, Ohio; a son, the Rev. David (and spouse Sue) Guiles, executive director of Grace Brethren International Missions, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Daniel, Jonathan, Brandon, Mark and Melisa; and a sister, Joan (and spouse Bill) Ambacher, New Holland, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Grace Brethren Church, 909 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, officiated by the Rev. Steve Bailey. Private graveside services will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. today through Thursday at Irene’s residence.

Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.

Warsaw City Council Continues Discussion On Downtown Parking Changes
