COLUMBIA CITY - Roger Wayne Collier, 62, of Pierceton, died at 8:05 a.m. April 11, 2009, in Warsaw Meadows.

He was born March 30, 1947, in Partridge, Ky., to Vincent L. and Pearl M. Halcomb Collier. On Nov. 1, 1991, in Warsaw, he married Betty White, who survives.

He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School. He retired from Explorer Van and owned a bakery-pastry pantry in Decatur. Living in Columbia City most of his life, he was a resident of Pierceton for 19 years.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lanaya "Tina" (and spouse Jason) Jones, Columbia City; two sons, Domion (and spouse Dawn) Collier, Fort Wayne, and Charles Collier, Pierceton; six brothers: Timothy R. (and spouse Margaret) Maggard and Paul L. (and spouse Martine) Maggard, all of Whitesburg, Ky.; Dewey Ed Collier, Beattyville, Ky.; and Wallace (and spouse Peggy) Collier, Harold Collier and Rick Collier, all of Columbia City; three sisters, Stacy M. Dear (and Tom Frankart) and Sandra L. Collier, all of Columbia City, and Mantie L. (and spouse Don) Furnas, Warsaw; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Dr. David Biberstein officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
