NAPPANEE – Roger S. Gaff, 87, of Kendallville, and formerly of Nappanee, died at 9:47 a.m. March 6, 2012, in his residence, from natural causes.

He was born June 10, 1924, in Churubusco. On Oct. 6, 1946, in Columbia City, he married Gladys Floor, who died Nov. 24, 2002. On Dec. 22, 2009, in Canton, Ohio, he married Joy Chapman-Slabaugh, who survives.

He was an iron worker and worked in the Union, Local 292 out of South Bend. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of New Life Tabernacle. 

Also surviving are two sons, David (and spouse Nancy) Gaff, Freeport, Ill., and Kent (and spouse Pat) Gaff, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Julie (and spouse James) Archambeault, Kendallville; stepchildren, Elaine (and spouse Gary) Beuchat, Allen, Texas; Terri (and spouse Perry) Campanelli, Canton; Linda (and spouse Dennis) Clark, Massillon, Ohio; and Diana (and spouse Kim) Malinowski, North Canton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 25 step great-grandchildren; brothers: John Gaff, Columbia City;  Ray Gaff, Muncie; and Leonard Gaff, Huntertown; and sisters, Mary Gray and Shirley Stampe, both of Churubusco, and Barbara (and spouse Ray) Leitch, Burlington, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Tabernacle, Kendallville, with the Rev. James Archambeault officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery with military graveside services.

Calling is from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. 

Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is in charge of arrangements.
