COLUMBIA CITY - Roger L. Hossler, 61, of Etna-Troy Township, died at 5:55 a.m. Nov. 4, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 11, 1946, in Kosciusko County, to Worth and Mable Fruit Hossler. On Oct. 23, 1965, he married Sandra J. Reid, who survives.

After graduating from Pierceton High School, he worked at Weatherhead Co., Columbia City. In October 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. Following his discharge, he returned to his job and retired from the Dana-Weatherhead with 33 years of service. In April 1998, he started working at Reelcraft Co., Columbia City. He was a former member of Larwill Lions Club and Pierceton American Legion Post.

Also surviving are his children: Jim Hossler, Kimmell; Mrs. Garry (Pam) Rumsey, Ligonier; and Dennis Hossler, South Whitley; six grandchildren; a sister, Colleen Ridenour, Warsaw; and a brother, Larry Hossler, Wolf Lake. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Pastor Dale Moser officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill, with military honors by members of Whitley County War Veterans.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
