NORTH MANCHESTER – Roger L. Boocher, 73, Paoli, formerly of Sidney and Columbia City, died at 9:45 p.m. July 4, 2016, in Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born March 19, 1943, in Whitley County, to Oscar and Eileen Miller Boocher. On Sept. 30, 2005, he married Judy Hill Oliver, who survives.
He retired from Essex Corporation, Fort Wayne, in 2003 after 34 years. He was employed with White Metal Rolling and Stamping, Warsaw, from 1961 to 1968.
He graduated from Sidney High School in 1961. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines. He also was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter. He was a council member of the Wildwood Association, Paoli.
Also surviving are a son, Brian (and spouse Rita) Boocher, Claypool; three stepsons: Neil (and spouse Ann) Gordon, Hudson; Larry (and spouse Michele) Gordon, Columbia City; Tracy (and spouse Wendy) Biehl, Andrews; a daughter, Robin Boocher Garrard, Claypool; two brothers, Dick Boocher, South Whitley, and Robert (and spouse Tammy) Boocher, Pierceton; a sister, Marylin (and spouse James) Perryman, Portage; six grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Matthew Hill.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
