He was born May 11, 1946, in Celina, Ohio, to Harold and Elnora Fleming Paysen. On Sept. 26, 1970, in Warsaw, he married Kathie Stone, who survives in Silver Lake.
He was a 1964 graduate of Celina High School, Celina, Ohio. He served in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He lived most of his life in Kosciusko County and worked 25 years for Zimmer, retiring April 1, 2015, as a polisher. He was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church; taught the adult Sunday School class; loved his lab, Patches; and enjoyed spending time with his wife, whom he loved the most.
Also surviving are: three sons, Chad (and spouse Ashley) Paysen, Osceola, Ryan (and spouse Aimee) Paysen, Jacksonville, Fla., and Travis Paysen, Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Stephanie Paysen, Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a family friend, Fred Rosbrugh, Columbia City; two brothers, Ken (and spouse Wilma) Paysen, North Carolina, and Richard (and spouse Ann) Paysen, Columbus, Ohio; and one sister, Carol Elder, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Glenn Hughes of the church and the Rev. Bob Brown, God’s Highway to Heaven, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 126. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
