MENTONE - Rodney K. Gibble, 76, of 3767 S. Viking Drive, Mentone, died at 9:05 a.m. Aug. 22, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born May 29, 1934, in Kosciusko County, to Harry and Frances Newell Gibble. On June 27, 1954, at Mentone United Methodist Church, he married Jacqueline Gibble, who survives.

He worked at Hales Hunter Feeds until the late '60s when the company changed to Cargill. He retired in 1992 as plant manger. He graduated from Mentone High School in 1952. He was a member of Mentone Untied Methodist Church and was baptized March 22, 1951. He also was a member of the Mentone Chamber of Commerce, Mentone Lions Club and Rochester Moose Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, trap shooting, archery and woodworking. He was a big Cubs and Colts fan. He was known for riding his golf cart around Mentone and drinking coffee at the Mini-Mart.

Also surviving are two daughters, Calleen (and spouse Jack) Sausaman, Syracuse, and Judith (and spouse Tim) Smith, Mentone; a son, Greg (and spouse Mary) Gibble, Greenfield; six grandchildren: Matt (and spouse Christi) Sausaman; Nolan (and spouse Shannon) Sausaman; Sarah (and spouse Matt) Davis; Ashleigh Bruner; and Austin and Emily Gibble; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashleigh Bruner, who died Oct. 20, 1996.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with the Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
