LIGONIER - Robin D. Gates, 56, of Kendallville, formerly of Logansport, died at 3:35 p.m. April 24, 2008, in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

He was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Logansport, to Gilbert and Mary Pottenger Gates. On July 7, 2007, he married Loretta Trim, who survives in Kendallville.

He retired from Dana Corporation, Syracuse, after 30 years of service. He was an area resident since 1971 coming from Logansport.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael Gates, Kendallville, and Skylar Gates, Brimfield; two daughters, Angela (and spouse DeWayne) Buchtel, Ligonier, and Shantel Gates, Brimfield; a stepson, Trevor Sexton, Kendallville; a stepdaughter, Rachel Trim, Kendallville; two brothers, David (and spouse Cheryl) Phillips, Demont, and Jim (and spouse Joann) Gates, Fulton; three sisters, Lois (and spouse Richard) Babb, Logansport; Linda Westheusin, Connecticut and Bonita, Monticello; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Randy, and a sister, Shirley.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Rev. Sarah Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Orange Township Cemetery, Brimfield.

Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, is in charge of arrangements.
