He was born July 9, 1951, in Warsaw, to Robert Sr. and Susana Beatrice (Reyna) Espinoza. On Dec. 1, 1979, in Warsaw, he was united in marriage to Patricia Castle, who survives.
A lifelong resident of Kosciusko County, he worked for Dana Corp. in Syracuse for 34 years, retiring in 2008. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1974. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, Warsaw, American Legion Post #258, Pierceton, where he served as past commander, and VFW Post #1126, Warsaw. He was also a member of the U.A.W. through Dana Corp.
He was very active in VA Reunions, American Red Cross, the Democrat Party and was especially active with his family and friends. He was the oldest of six children.
Also surviving are his mother, Susana Beatrice Espinoza, Pierceton; three children: Antonio Robert (and spouse Lety) Espinoza, Goshen; Aaron Joseph Espinoza, San Diego, Calif.; and Leah Nicole Espinoza, Warsaw; his sister, Delores Espinoza (and spouse David) Bumbaugh, Claypool; four brothers: Roland “Felix” (and spouse Dixie) Espinoza, Warsaw; Armando “Mandy” (and spouse Sarah Ann) Espinoza, Pierceton; Reuben Espinoza, Pierceton; and Steven (and spouse Joanna) Espinoza, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his father in 1992 and his father-in-law, Robert Castle.
Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Bishop Jeff Walter officiating and military honors provided by American Legion Post #258, Pierceton. Burial will be at a later date.
There will be a gathering of friends and family, following the service on Friday, at American Legion Post #258, Pierceton.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
