Roberta Slaymaker, 44, died July 14, 2007, in her residence in Romoland, Calif.

She was born Dec. 17, 1962, in Warsaw, to Wayne and Doris Ann Beigh Slaymaker.

She was a 1983 Whitko High School graduate. She served in security in the U.S. Air Force from 1983-87, in California and Desert Storm, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. She then worked at Northrop in a similar capacity. She became a Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputy in 1990, and soon became a canine officer. She served the department for 17 years, winning many awards, competitions and commendations.

Surviving are her father, Wayne Slaymaker, Warsaw; her mother, Doris Ann Slaymaker, Sun City, Calif.; and two brothers, Roy Slaymaker, Columbus, Ohio, and Sam Slaymaker, Warsaw.

A barbecue in her memory will be Aug. 5 in California.

The Sheriff's Association of Riverside County, and Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory, Hement, Calif., are in charge of arrangements.[[In-content Ad]]
