NORTH WEBSTER – Roberta B. Sowers, 89, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Leesburg, died at 10:15 p.m.  Oct. 24, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born July 7, 1923, in Claypool, to Percy King and Florence N. Cozens Perkins. On March 1, 1944, in Warsaw, she was married to Everett G. Sowers, who survives.

She graduated in 1943 from Warsaw High School. She moved from Valparaiso to Warsaw in 1952, then to the Leesburg area in 1968 before moving to Indianapolis earlier this year. She retired in 1985 from Depuy, Warsaw, after 33 years of service. She was a member of North Webster United Methodist Church; Lakeland Quilt Club, North Webster; and Stripper Rippers Quilting Club.

Also surviving are sons, Steve (and spouse Rita) Sowers, Indianapolis, and Randy (and spouse Joyce), Mishawaka; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther (and spouse Blaine) Sowers, Fort Wayne; and a brother, Wesley (and spouse Billie) Perkins, Andrews. She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor David Smitley officiating.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster.
