Robert Walter Nehls, 72, died May 21, 2010, in his daughter's residence.

He was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to Walter Martin and Anna Bridgett Manhau Nehls. On Aug. 29, 1959, in Chicago, he married Judith M. Hyzy, who died Jan. 16, 2006.

He entered the U.S. Army Jan. 31, 1955, and was honorably discharged Dec. 31, 1962, as SP4.

Living the last 20 years in Kosciusko County, moving from Monterey, he worked at Sealed Power Corp., Rochester, and retired from Symmetry Medical/Othy Division, Warsaw, in 2003. He was a member of American Legion, Chicago.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan (and spouse John) Adamiec, Warsaw, and Lynn (and spouse Donald) Darda, Winamac; a son, Walter (and spouse Debra) Nehls, Osceola; and five grandchildren: Scott and JoAnna Darda, and Ben, Noah and Joe Nehls. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Marinovich

No services are planned.
