Robert Vance Abbott, Warsaw, 83, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 1:54 p.m. in Parkview Wabash Hospital. Abbott was born March 26, 1933, to Oscar V. and Ruth A. Sutherland Abbott. On Dec. 18, 1955, to Marjorie I. Huffman. He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a security guard for Fairmont Homes in Nappanee. He was a member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster. He is survived by a son, John (and spouse Jill) Earl, Columbia City; three sisters, Deloris June Abbott, Auburn; Doris Jean Sewell, Columbia, Tenn.; and Linda (and spouse Ron) Pekerul, Burlington, Conn.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Teresa Chappel; a brother, John Abbott; and two sisters, Mary LaRue and Carolyn Taylor. Services will be Tuesday at noon at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Jarboe, chaplain at Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military graveside honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. ***** Memorials to K21 Health Foundation, Cancer Care Fund, PO Box 1810, Warsaw, IN. 46581-1810.
