He was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Colfax, to Bert and Gayle Stowman Goff. On Aug. 19, 1950, in Huntington, he married Margaret E. Coutcelt, who survives.
He was a 1941 graduate of Huntington High School and attended for two years of college. He entered the U.S. Army July 14, 1942, through Indianapolis, and served during World War II. Tec5 Robert Stowman Goff was honorably discharged Nov. 27, 1945, from Camp Atterbury. On Nov. 3, 1950, he was recalled and served in Germany during the Korean War. He lived at Chapman Lake from 1962-2010 and most recently live in Nokomis, Fla. He worked at Zimmer Inc., Smith Tire and owned and operated Goff’s Chapman Lake Marina, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Kings Gate Club, Kings Gate Bowling League, Kings Gate Tennis League and Elks Lodge, all in Nokomis, and American Legion Post 59, Venice, Fla.
Also surviving are a son, Kent C. Goff, Warsaw; two daughters, Millicent (and spouse Gregory “Skip”) Brant, North Port, Fla., and Monica (and spouse Dan) Fritzinger, Warsaw; two grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Brant-Ferszt (and spouse Michael Ferszt), Longmeadow, Mass., and Trevor Brant, North Port. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Snyder, who died Jan. 1, 1980, and Louise Rickert, who died in November 2011.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 ot 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be by members of Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.
