AKRON – Robert Roger “Bob” Ooley, 68, of rural Akron, died Nov. 25, 2011, following a two-year battle with cancer.
He was born March 7, 1943, in Plymouth, to Clifton and Mildred Ooley. In 1961, in Bourbon, he married Loretta Smith, who survives.
He was raised in Bourbon and the family moved to Akron in 1971. He retired from R.R. Donnelley after 37 years of service. He loved spending time with family, hunting, woodcutting, his home, land and tractors.
Also surviving are three daughters: Angie (and spouse Doug) Stevens, Fort Wayne; Paula (and spouse Larry) Oaks, Burket; and Julie (and spouse Mark) Walker, Silver Lake; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lois (and spouse Arthur) Williams, Hobart; Martha (and spouse Floyd) Cox, Akron; and Ruth Ann (and spouse Jim) Baker, Goshen; a brother, Leroy (and spouse Alice) Ooley, Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, C. Carl Ooley .
A private memorial service will be at Earl-Love Funeral Home, Akron.
No calling is planned.
