BOURBON - Robert R. Kolbe Sr., 82, of Warsaw, returned to the peace of our Lord's loving embrace March 3, 2011, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Louis LeRoy and Helyn Kent Kolbe. On Oct. 16, 1948, he married Adeline Chathum, who died in August 1972. On May 4, 1973, he then married JoAnne Shearer Horn, who survives.
He worked at Campbell Soup Co. for 15 years, Chore Time-Brock for 17 years and Warsaw Coil for seven years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1946-48, during World War II. He was a 1946 graduate of Mooretown High School and attended Drexel University, Philadelphia College of the Bible and Grace Seminary. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Leesburg, and taught Bible classes at Harrison Center and Camp Creek churches.
Also surviving are his children: Janice (and spouse Ken) Cortina, Show Low, Ariz.; Aimee (and spouse Jon) Eickmann, Chesterfield, Mo.; Nancy (and spouse James) Clay, Warsaw; and Robert R. Kolbe Jr., Three Rivers, Mich.; a son-in-law, Michael Reilly, Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepsons, James Allen (and spouse Mary) Horn, Winona Lake, and Samuel Frederick (and spouse Maria) Horn, Jacksonville, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Dunner, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Reilly; a granddaughter, Lavona Morales; and a son-in-law, Andrew Shearer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Kirk Bargar officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Memorial Park, Pennsauken, N.J.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
