NORTH MANCHESTER - Robert L. "Bob" Olinger, 89, of North Manchester, died at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 16, 2007, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Dec. 15, 1918, in Liberty Mills, to Lloyd "Bugs" and Bessie E. Auker Olinger. On Dec. 20, 1947, he married D. Elaine Lamp, who died Aug. 16, 1994.

He retired from the former Woodcraft Co., North Manchester, where he worked for more than 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester.

Surviving are a son, Rick E. Olinger, Warsaw; two daughters, Darlene Staley and Barbara (and spouse Tony) Parson, both of North Manchester; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
