Robert F. “Bob” Green, 70, Syracuse, passed away at 5:45 a.m. March 6, 2014, at his residence.
He was born July 3, 1943, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Paul and Georgene Wallen.
He served as a mechanic with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and remained a member of the National Guard until July 3, 2003.
He lived for many years in Milford before moving to Syracuse two years ago. He was a self-employed truck driver, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Syracuse VFW. He enjoyed racing stock cars in his younger years, and enjoyed golf and participated in league bowling. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan; he loved to fish; his faith was important to him as was his attendance at Warsaw Community Church. He was an amazing father and grandfather.
Surviving are a son, Robert (and spouse Brandi) Green, North Webster; a daughter, Robin (and spouse Earl) Beezley, Syracuse; two brothers, Daniel and Ronald Green; a sister, Kathy Green; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Jeff Pfeifer, Warsaw Community Church, officiating. Burial is in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Milford, with military graveside honors conducted by Syracuse VFW.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
