He was born Sept. 10, 1917, in Winchester, to Oliver M. and Almeda Cox Huffman. On Oct. 26, 1939, in Winchester, he married Evalena "Eve" North, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2000.
After moving to North Webster, he moved to Florida. He spent 25 years in Inverness, Fla., and moved back to Hartford City in 1997. He was a carpenter and he and his wife, Eve, formally owned and operated Fishermen's Cove Resort in North Webster for many years. He was a member of Hartford City Wesleyan Church.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Peggy J. (and spouse Mike) Inman, Hartford City; Reta L. Cooperrider, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Dennis L. (and spouse Sue) Huffman, Lamb; grandchildren: Steven L. (and spouse Barbara) Huffman; Robert Inman; Mark N. (and spouse Natalie) Inman; Todd A. (and spouse Connie) Cooperrider; and Wade W. (and spouse Shannon) Cooperrider; step-grandchildren, Kyla Sanders and Erin Strait; great-grandchildren, Christopher Michael (and spouse Allison) Inman; Chad Inman; Chelsea Hansen; Brent Adam Cooperrider; Nathaniel Cooperrider; Natalie Cooperrider; Nathan W. Cooperrider; Jeremy Cooperrider; Jolene Cooperrider and Amanda Cooperrider; great-great grandaughter, Taylor Grace Inman; a sister Marie Hensia, Orland, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartford City Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Vernon Huffman officiating. A commital service of Bob's cremains will take place at a later date at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
