Robert E. LaRue, 87, of Warsaw, died June 18, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Elkhart, to Walter and Edna LaRue. His former wife, Mary Abbott LaRue, died Nov. 7, 1995.

Living in the Warsaw area most of his life, he worked at Gatke for more than 40 years, retiring in 1992, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are four sons: Robert E. LaRue, Clarksville, Tenn.; Franklin A. (and spouse Beverly) LaRue, Warsaw; and Walter G. LaRue and Wesley E. (and spouse Mimi) LaRue, both of Pierceton; two daughters, Dawn (and spouse Jesse) Sanchez, Warsaw, and Kathleen Ferris, Louisa, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kim LaRue; a grandson, Anthony "Tony" LaRue; a brother; and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Bob Jarboe, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside honors.

Calling is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
