Robert E. 'Bob' Shock

SYRACUSE – Robert E. “Bob” Shock, 82, of Syracuse, died at 11:35 p.m. Jan. 30, 2012, in I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born June 18, 1929, in Fort Wayne, to Ezra E. and Minnie D. Stump Shock. On Aug. 28, 1949, in Syracuse, he married Nancy “Diane” Dietrick, who survives.

He graduated in 1947 from Syracuse High School and lived most of his life in Syracuse except for several years he lived in Florida. He retired in 1995 from Blue Flame, Syracuse, after seven years and formerly was an exterminator and milk delivery man in Florida.

Also surviving are a daughter, Deborah (and spouse Gerald) Conner, Syracuse; two sons, John (and spouse  Susan) Shock and Gregory (and spouse Sandra) Shock, all of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McClintic Cemetery, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.
