He was born July 22, 1923, in Wabash County, to Herman T. and Velma Marie Bishop Ihnen. On Sept. 19, 1941, he married Marjorie M. Burns, who died May 5, 2001.
He was a lifetime farmer and drove a school bus for 27 years for Laketon and Manchester Community Schools. He is a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran. He was a member of South Pleasant United Methodist Church, North Manchester, and a 63-year member of American Legion Post 402, Laketon. He graduated from Laketon High School in 1941.
Surviving are a son, Ronald (and spouse Donna) Ihnen, North Manchester; a daughter, Linda (and spouse Ted) McCune, North Manchester; a sister, Betty Davis, Wabash; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastors Ed French and Russ Rearhard officiating. Burial will be in South Pleasant Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
