He was born July 8, 1943, in Warsaw, to Wilbur Frederick and Viola Mae Slusher Rosbrugh. On Sept. 18, 1965, in Winona Lake, he married Carolyn Sue Clouse, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1962 graduate of Pierceton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1967. He had worked at R.R. Donnelley, Hand Industries and then he worked for Zimmer Inc., Warsaw, from 1971 until his retirement in 1993 as the manager of the Polymer & Packaging Departments. After retirement, he was the owner of Mr. R’s Café in Warsaw for six years. He had many interests, the most important was his family especially his grandson Lucas. He enjoyed fishing, camping in his motorhome, his Harley Trike, and he really loved sports, most of all basketball. He always looked forward to having coffee with his good friend Steve Biller. He was a life member of the VFW Post #1126, past member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a member of Winona Lake Free Methodist Church.
He also leaves behind two sons, Matthew J. Rosbrugh, Fort Wayne, and Marcus J. (and spouse Sunny) Rosbrugh, Fort Myers, Fla.; a grandson, Lucas Robert Rosbrugh, Fort Wayne; a brother, Richard (and spouse JoAnn) Rosbrugh, Claypool; and a sister, Virginia Shultz, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Ron Redpath officiating with full military honors conducted by the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard, the American Legion Post 49 and the VFW 1126, both of Warsaw. Those attending the graveside service please meet at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home to leave in procession to the cemetery at 9:50 a.m.
Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
