ELWOOD – Robert “Bob” Gene Henderson, 76, of Pierceton and formerly of Elwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 3, 2012, in Mason Health Care Center, Warsaw.

He was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Elwood, to Glenn and Virgest Disbennett Henderson. On March 16, 1957, he married Myrna Reynolds, who survives.

He retired from DePuy, Warsaw, and was a member of the Church of God, North Webster, and East Main Street Christian Church,  Elwood. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, bowling in his younger years. He loved to tease people and was a great dad.

Also surviving are a son, Todd Henderson, Elwood; a daughter, Tammy Rogers, Elwood; four grandchildren, Shay, Maryanne and Jacob Henderson and Randy Rogers; four great-grandchildren with two more on the way; two sisters, Elaine Williams, Illinois, and Neva Goforth, Elwood; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Henderson;  his mother, Virgest Ruth Henderson; his stepmother, Laverne Henderson; a grandson, Danny Rogers; two brothers; a sister; and two stepbrothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
