Rista Jane MacDonald, 72, Warsaw, died at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 17, 2013, in the home of her mother, Juanita Krider, where she had been staying for the past two years due to failing health.
She was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Wolf Lake, to Clyde LeRoy and Juanita J. Friend Krider Sr. In 1963 she was united in marriage to Victor H. MacDonald, who died in 2012. They always made their home in Warsaw.
Her formative years were spent in Collins. She graduated from Churubusco High School. In 1953 she began working at Rogers as a meat cutter, retiring from Kroger in 2003. Her church membership was with Collins United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her mother, Juanita; seven brothers: Clarence, Thomas, Wayne, Danny and Gerald “Dick” Krider, all of Columbia City; Donald Krider, Churubusco; and John Krider, Merriam; four sisters: Sandi “Sis” Krider, Laotto; Dee Juillerat, Arizona; Joan Trantham, California; and Peggy Trahin, Columbia City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Clyde Krider Jr.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
