The concert and dinner benefit held Aug. 12 at Noa Noa and Spikes to raise money for the newly established Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund netted $25,000, according to event organizers.

That $25,000 will be matched by the K21 Health Foundation for a total of $50,000 raised for the fund.

The Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund was established at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation by Alan Alderfer and Mike Bergen to benefit Riley Hospital for Children and to provide financial assistance to Kosciusko County families who travel to Riley to obtain medical care for their children.

“The event was a wonderful example of what our community can accomplish when we work together,” said Community Foundation Executive Director Suzie Light.

Noa Noa, the Riley Children’s Foundation, K21 Health Foundation, the Community Foundation, John Warren from Tower Bank and many local Riley families organized the event, which was attended by approximately 300 people.

“The Peter Mayer Group loved doing this concert,” said Noa Noa owner Scott Woods. “We believe this will be an annual event and hope that the community will continue to come and have fun and support this wonderful cause.”

Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community. The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
